Lessons
Taught to 3rd Grade
For the elementary UTeach internship, I visited the school for an hour and a half once a week for an entire semester. During this time, I observed lessons taught by my CT and taught three lessons of my own design. All the lessons for this teaching internship were written in the Gagne's Nine Steps of Instruction format and includes a evaluation by my CT and a personal reflection.
Lesson: Equivalent Fractions
Learning Equivalent Fractions
After matching examples of equivalent fractions as a class, students will match at least 3 out of 4 equal fractions independently in their workbook.
§113.15. Social Studies, Grade 4, Beginning with School Year 2011-2012.
(3) Number and operations. The student applies mathematical process standards to represent and explain fractional units. The student is expected to:
(G) Explain that two fractions are equivalent if and only if they are both represented by the same point on the number line or represent the same proportion of a same size whole for an area model.

Lesson: World Trade
Learning World Trade
After participating in a trade activity, students will give the definition of international trade and at least one example of an import and export to Texas.

§113.15. Social Studies, Grade 4, Beginning with School Year 2011-2012.
(13) Economics. The student understands how Texas, the United States, and other parts of the world are economically interdependent. The student is expected to:
(C) explain how Texans meet some of their needs through the purchase of products from the United States and the rest of the world.

Lesson: Perimeters
Learning Perimeters
After practicing finding the perimeter on various shapes, students will be able to find the perimeter of the four different shapes on page 709 and the shape in problem 13 on page 710.

§111.5. Mathematics, Grade 3, Adopted 2012
(7) Geometry and measurement. The student applies mathematical process standards to select appropriate units, strategies, and tools to solve problems involving customary and metric measurement. The student is expected to:
(B) determine the perimeter of a polygon or a missing length when given perimeter and remaining side lengths in problems;

Observations
I conducted numerous observations during my student teaching internship.
